Mike Pence Defends President and Makes Bold Move to Promote Border Security

On Friday, Vice President Mike Pence made a visit to the Port of Baltimore where he met with US Customs & Border Protection agents. While there, he shook hands with many agents and gave words of gratitude for their dedication to our nation. He was there on behalf of the entire Trump administration to thank the agents for their efforts.

Last year alone, the Balitmore field office seized over 3,500 pounds of illegally smuggled drugs.

He also praised them for their work amidst the recent government shutdown:

“You all stood tall. You stayed on your watch in the midst of that shutdown,” he said. “I’m here to say, ‘Thank you.’ But also to learn more about the work each and every one of you do.”

It’s no secret that Pence and the Trump administration are truly grateful for the work of border patrol agents. Their work is vital to our national security, and while Democrats refuse to fund any border security, the Trump administration continues to fight for the safety of Americans.

“I want to make you a promise that we’re going to continue– to secure our border, north, south, east and west,” Pence said. “We’re going to build that wall one way or another, I promise you.”

Pence ended by sincerely thanking the crowd of border agents and telling them how “truly grateful” he is for their hard work.

“We know that your work here is vital. We’re truly grateful.”
